Beth Pederson’s musical career began in the mid-1960s. A young songstress
just out of university, she performed extensively throughout the Northwest,
Alaska, and Colorado.
But
her life changed forever in 1970 when she and Cinde Borup came together
and became “Wild Roses.” Beth and Cinde, whose names soon
became inseparable, quickly became a well-loved musical pair that delighted
audiences throughout the western United States and Canada.
During their twenty-eight year partnership they co-produced four recordings: ”Cross
Country”, “Wild Roses”, “Voices on the Wind”,
and “Northern Lights.” Cinde’s passing in August of
1998 left a huge void in the hearts of many. Her legacy, the music that
she and Beth created, still reaches people all over the world. In the
fall of that year many longtime musical friends gathered together for
the Tribute to a Wild Rose Memorial Concert in honor of Cinde.
 The
following year Beth brought together the Divas of Folk including folk
music luminaries Belinda Bowler, Chris Webster and Nina
Gerber, as well as folk icon Rosalie Sorrels. They opened for
Judy Collins at that
year’s
Festival at Sandpoint. In 2000 the Divas took to the Panida stage for
a second sold out tribute concert, benefiting the Lake Pend Oreille High
School with a piano and funds for a music program donated in Cinde’s
memory.
After a brief hiatus, Beth picked up her guitar once more and embarked
on a series of dinner concerts at Di Luna’s Café in downtown
Sandpoint. The series featured “Beth Pederson & Friends,” including
local and regional musicians. March 2003 marked the third tribute concert
in honor of Cinde, this time featuring Beth and New England-based singer/songwriter
Cheryl Wheeler. Again, proceeds benefitted local music education.
In 2004 Beth recorded her first solo CD, “Everything Must Change,” an
intimate picture of love, loss, change, and hope.
2007
ushered in a new musical venture for Beth when she and guitarist/singer
Bruce Bishop joined forces. Bruce's blues/jazz background as an L.A.
session player has added a new dimension to her music and together they
create a fascinating, always beautiful blend of their individual styles.
In 2008 they co-produced the CD "Christmas in Their Eyes" – a
unique collection of Christmas and winter songs.
